Namaste! I am Ujwala Kulkarni!
I am a
story teller with a difference, for I enact the stories written by myself. I have written a number of short stories
and columns in Marathi periodicals like Stree, Kirloskar, Maher etc. I am a regular script writer
for All India Radio and Doordarshan (Indian Television Channel) and have
also written the script for a 13 Episode Serial called Kayapalat which was broadcasted on Sahyadri
TV channel.
I am a State Bank of India employee and have already notched up over 800 performances till date
for prestigious organizations such as Lions Club, Rotary Club, Senior Citizen clubs, Colleges,
and Schools and other educational institutions and socio-cultural orgaizations.
My stories are mostly humorous picking up incidents from the daily life of middle class families. I bring
out their typical behavioural ethos, taboos and notions. Starting off on a related topic, I turn to the main story and
sprinkle it with humour. I have a ready-made package for school and college students, women, senior citizens, socio-cultural
institutions and even the elite who frequent social clubs.
As a performing artist I do an
independent theatre show. But I have acted in a number of plays in all major cities in the state and also many parts
of the country. I have won several National and State level Awards for my well known humourous show HASYARANJAN!
